The recent International Security Exhibition of Madrid (SICUR 2020), held between 25 and 28 February, left a great news for Mega2Seguridad. Its Technical Director, José Antonio Castillo, saw his work recognized by winning the NVT Phybridge 'IoT Pioneer' final award. His work in developing a project to migrate existing analogue CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) systems to the new IP CCTV systems, using the existing coaxial cabling infrastructure, was key to convincing the judges of this prestigious award.
Thanks to its application and the constant search for technological solutions, the new system will make it possible to extend an Ethernet PoE network with a considerably lower implementation cost than was previously required with a traditional network based on a wired structure. In this way, it will make it easier to economize the assembly, since both the installation of the structured cables and the electronic elements of the network will be much more affordable. Not to mention that this option will also simplify network deployment compared to the standard Ethernet network system.
To carry out this project, over two years José Antonio has used more than a hundred Ethernet Over Coax switches 10 and 24 ports as CORE of the system, so that each analog camera point can become up to four other points of Ethernet PoE. And thanks to this, more than 7,500 of these points are achieved, which facilitates the installation of a fundamental network infrastructure so that systems can be migrated in a practical and inexpensive way.
Since its foundation in 2004, for Mega2Seguridad is key to have the best professionals in the security sector. And in particular, we attach great importance to the technical field, because it gives us essential tools to provide quality answers to all the needs of our customers. All with the aim of achieving their full satisfaction, so that we can continue to be a benchmark in the market and continue to have the full confidence of users and companies.
So, this success of our Technical Director is a source of pride for us, as it is a new demonstration of the excellence of our professionals. Congratulations and great work, José Antonio!
