On 19 May, the Private Security Day was held in Valencia to commemorate the great work carried out by the various professionals in this sector in Spain.
The event was attended by representatives of the State Security Forces and Corps, as well as representatives of the main private securitycompanies.
The opening, which was made by the Chief Commissioner Mr. Alfredo Garrido, regional head of Operations of the Valencian Community, acknowledged the enormous work and responsibility that they have on a daily basis in this sector; in his own words "guarding the goods of the vineyard, so that in the end the harvest could be carried out"; referring to the enormous effort of the last few years.
D. Luis Felipe Martínez, subdelegate of the Government in Valencia, wanted to pay tribute to the colleagues who had died as a result of the pandemic in the last two years and to recognise the importance they had played during the pandemic, making the spaces safe and protecting all citizens in general.
Among the mentions awarded, the SICOR Group received honourable mentions for two of its SICOR Security Guards, Antonio Castillo and Rafael Montaner, whose professional work was recognised for their intervention in a vandalism incident last September, in which they managed to deter burglars in an El Corte Inglés shopping centre in the city of Valencia, specifically in Nuevo Centro.
In addition, our Head of Regional Services, José Alberto Villanueva, received recognition for his career from the Castellón Civil Guard Headquarters.
The ceremony included an offering of flowers to the Virgin Mary, who was present on stage, accompanied by a soloist with the traditional "Ave Maria".
Once again this year, we are proud to have the best team of professionals and experts. Always ready to protect citizens and users against events that pose a danger to the people and companies to whom we provide our services.
