On May 19, the Private Security Day was held in Valencia, Spain, to commemorate the great work carried out by the various professionals in this sector in Spain.
The event was attended by representatives of the State Security Forces and Corps, as well as representatives of the main private security companies.
The opening, made by the Chief Commissioner Mr. Alfredo Garrido, regional head of Operations of the Valencian Community, recognized the enormous work and responsibility that they have daily in this sector; in his own words "guarding the goods of the vineyard, so that at the end the harvest could be carried out"; referring to the strenuous effort of the last years.
D. Luis Felipe Martínez, subdelegate of the Government in Valencia, wanted to pay, continuing with the previous speaker, a tribute to the colleagues who died due to the pandemic in the last two years and to recognize the importance they had had during the pandemic, making the spaces safe and protecting all citizens in general.
Among the mentions awarded, Grupo SICOR was highlighted with honorable mentions for two of its SICOR Security Officers, Antonio Castillo and Rafael Montaner, who were recognized for their professional work for their intervention in a vandalism incident that occurred last September, in which they managed to dissuade some burglars in an El Corte Inglés center in the city of Valencia, specifically in Nuevo Centro.
In addition, our Head of Regional Services, José Alberto Villanueva, received recognition for his career, by the Command of the Civil Guard of Castellón.
The ceremony included an offering of flowers to the Virgin Mary, who was present on stage and accompanied by a soloist with the traditional "Ave Maria".
