4 Keys to Keeping Facilities Clean and Sanitized in times of COVID-19

Cleanliness is a fundamental factor that determines the quality of life, something that has gained relevance due to the current situation marked by COVID-19. Against this backdrop, there are more and more clean establishments that are designing specific measures to disinfect spaces successfully.

From Grupo SICOR, through SICOR Integral Cleaning, specialised in cleaning and maintenance services, we offer a series of recommendations so that any type of establishment can provide its services in a safe way, guaranteeing the health and well-being of customers, employees or suppliers:

Develop a cleaning plan to keep establishments clean.

The first step is to draw up a plan to define which areas should be cleaned (for example, in areas that have been unoccupied for 7 days or more, only routine cleaning is necessary) or how to disinfect areas, taking into account the type of surface and prioritising those that are used most frequently. It is important to indicate in this plan the resources and cleaning equipment that will be needed.

Implement the measures in the plan

Once the cleaning plan has been approved, the established measures must be implemented. These include the prior cleaning of soiled surfaces with soap and water before disinfection.

In order to disinfect in an optimal way, it is essential to have cleaning products against COVID-19, approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It is not only necessary to make sure that these products are suitable for the use we want to give them, it is also important to follow the manufacturer's instructions, which appear on the product label, for their correct use.

Lines of action for people with coronavirus disease

It may be the case that a person with COVID-19 has been on the premises. How should you respond? The areas used by this person should be closed and the outside doors and windows should be opened. It is recommended to wait 24 hours before starting cleaning or disinfection.

After this time, all areas where the sick person has been can be cleaned and, if necessary and as long as there are no other people inside, the place should be vacuumed using a hoover with a bag and a high-efficiency particulate air filter. The areas are then disinfected and reopened for use.

Revise the plan

In addition to continuing day-to-day cleaning and disinfection, it is advisable to review the cleaning plan frequently in order to assess, in particular, the availability of the products being used.

At SICOR Integral cleaning we analyse the needs of our clients to achieve optimum levels of cleanliness. We offer tailor-made services with personalised attention and a quick and efficient response capacity.
